George Moroz's Page

Some new and cool things are actually quite old. My photo on this page shows me, now 60 years old, recently playing 1867 rules base ball (back then it was spelled in two words) for the Lah De Dahs, one of several historic base ball teams of The Henry Ford, "America's greates history attraction." (I get a residual from our marketing director every time I use that tag line in a public forum.) Games are played at 1:30 PM every Saturday and Sunday in Greenfield Village. If you want to try something kind of cool and different, come on out and cheer on "The Beast" (my base ball nickname) during one of our games. What's cool about this for me is the chance to continue playing a game I've always loved and the fleeting opportunity to play alongside my three sons, Nick (Soapdish"), Harry ("Pecs"), and Alex ("Trousers"). Greenfield Village also hosts the World Tournament of Historic Base Ball, this year on August 2 and 3, as is fitting since the first ever base ball world tournament took place right here in Detroit in 1867. What's past can last.
