Is the American Dream in business? BBC uses Detroit as a symbol of American Decline

Just read a great article from the BBC on whether the American Dream still exists. The writer uses Detroit as a symbol of how not only cities are in decline but the notion of the American Dream and the next generation doing better than the previous may be in doubt.

Interesting read:

Eric, Hello, A pretty interesting article,
The next generation may well not be as fortunate as the last, at least for some, and home ownership may not be the best use of your money, but this country is still the best place on earth to create wealth and prosperity. These types of articles find exactly what they are looking for. Likely there would have been a different slant had the writer done the story in Birmingham or West Bloomfield, or downtown Chicago.

It should be noteworthy when the largest US employer has shifted from GM to Wal-Mart, that there is certainly something worth noting going on. It does seem that the money, which is just another form of energy, is moving around, but perhaps it always has.

The key may be to focus on what is working and what may propel us collectively and individually to a more fruitful situation, and increased prosperity.

And thank you for inviting me here, I look forward to an exchange of ideas,
