This story fits in very well with the theme of urban renewal/revitalization. The fact that the Spirit of Detroit holds so much significance to city residents and others in the state exemplifies the rich relationship between the built environment, public art/space and how we connect to it. It also fits into the theme of creating a "sense of place". I think we will end up discussing all these topics at the conference!
What do you think the significance is? How does it relate to the conference?
